Highlighted against glossy dark green lacy foliage, the profusion of narrow pink-lavender plumes are dense and fuzzy. This tough variety blooms later, mid to late summer, and will tolerate drier conditions than most.

Chicagoland Green Boxwood is primarily valued in the landscape or garden for its ornamental globe-shaped form. It has forest green evergreen foliage. The small round leaves remain forest green throughout the winter.

Chicago Lustre Viburnum is covered in stunning creamy white flat-top flowers at the ends of the branches in late spring. The royal blue fruits are held in abundance in spectacular clusters from early to late fall. It has forest green deciduous foliage. The serrated oval leaves turn an outstanding deep purple in the fall. Native to Southern Illinois.

Located in the heart of the North Shore, Highland Park was named by former Chicago Mayor Walter Gurnee for its elevated and picturesque, park-like setting. In the 1850s, the railroad brought Chicago’s upper echelon, who envisioned a high-end amusement park called Ravinia Park. Ravinia instead grew into a world-renowned music venue attracting over 400,000 guests to its expansive lawn each summer. Ravinia, along with the area’s peaceful setting and tightknit community nestled just outside Chicago, make Highland Park a wonderful place to live.

Named in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the land was, up until 1860, home to a 60-acre cemetery, which later became a beautiful 1,200 acre public park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. Today, the neighborhood boasts of boutiques, fine dining, and theaters, and if you look hard enough, you’ll spot the historic homes and mansions tucked away behind manicured hedges.

Salvatore Ferrara came to Chicago from Italy at the turn of the twentieth century without possessions, but with a love of baking. He saved enough money as an interpreter to open a bakery in Little Italy. There, in 1932, the little cinnamon imperial candies connected to love were born. Red Hots were the first branded candy of what became the Ferrara Pan Candy Company, which is still headquartered in Chicago.
