The Chinese Astilbe, blooming later than other types, is also more tolerant of sun and drier conditions. Visions is a compact variety with thick plumes of white flowers in late June and July rising from lush mounds of bronze-green leaves. Pretty with Lady Fern, Hellebore and Hosta. The sturdy flowers are great for cutting and drying. While this Astilbe is generally tougher than others it still appreciates being kept evenly moist.
